Material Presence celebrates the work of 50 painters brought together whilst participating in the Turps Correspondence Course. Curated by Lucy Cade, Sarah Jane Hender and Sarah Praill, the exhibition is a reflection on how this extended conversation has benefited their practice. This is work that shows a ‘coming into being’; an alchemy of sorts. Split into two parts over two weeks, Material Presence is an opportunity to experience the physicality of painting following a year of virtual dialogue.
