The Fitzrovia Gallery is an independent contemporary gallery located in the heart of London’s West End, an area long recognised as one of the city’s central art and gallery districts.
Surrounded by established galleries, institutions, universities, and creative industries, Fitzrovia has traditionally been a meeting point for artists, writers, and thinkers, and remains an important part of London’s cultural life today.
We work with emerging and early mid-career artists across all media, offering a professional West End platform that is accessible and affordable. Our aim is to remove unnecessary barriers to exhibiting in central London, while maintaining high standards and cultural relevance. We welcome individual artists and artist groups who are serious about developing their practice and engaging with a wider audience.
The gallery is particularly well suited to artists who are new to the London art scene, including international artists studying or working in the UK. We regularly work with artists from overseas backgrounds and understand the challenges of navigating the UK gallery landscape for the first time. Our approach is supportive, transparent, and practical, helping artists gain visibility, confidence, and experience in a respected central location.
We believe that strong work deserves to be seen, regardless of background or connections. The Fitzrovia Gallery exists to support new voices, encourage experimentation, and provide a clear and credible route into London’s contemporary art world.
Fitzrovia sits right in the middle of central London, between Bloomsbury, Marylebone and Soho, and has long been part of the West End’s creative backbone. The gallery is on Whitfield Street, just off Tottenham Court Road and close to Charlotte Street, with Fitzroy Square nearby. This is a working neighbourhood for design, media, publishing and architecture, which gives the area a steady cultural footfall beyond the usual tourist routes.
For artists, that matters. You are not tucked away in a destination-only space. You are exhibiting in a part of London where people already come to look, meet, eat, work and explore, and where galleries and cultural venues are part of the normal rhythm of the week.
Getting here is straightforward. The gallery is about 150 metres from Warren Street Underground Station (Northern and Victoria lines) and within a short walk of multiple major stations including Tottenham Court Road, Goodge Street and Oxford Circus, with plenty of bus routes nearby. It is an easy journey from mainline rail hubs and a simple route from Heathrow via the Elizabeth line and a short tube connection, making it practical for both London-based artists and international exhibitors.
