Static is the second solo exhibition by Jago Boase, featuring new work from the sidelines of deployments to refugee camps across Europe, Africa and Asia. The work deliberately does not focus on the human stories of these crises, but picks out details from the background in which these stories are unfolding. The majority of the work in the show is taken from Burma/Myanmar, where the refugees are exiled from, and Thailand and Bangladesh, where they are being hosted. While the range of locations featured in the exhibition is testament to the highly mobile nature of expatriate NGO work, for the people inside the camps life is static.
