Islands Apart

Islands Apart is photographer Neil Galloway’s first exhibition.
Neil, lived in Hong Kong for 20 years before moving back to Scotland in 2019. Following a successful career in banking and as a multinational CFO, he has followed a self-learning photography journey over the last few years and is for the first time putting some of his images on show.
The catalyst for this show was a discovery photo workshop to the Faroe Islands in 2025. The exhibition title hints at the contrasts between the two dependent island territories of the Faroe Islands and Hong Kong. The exhibition showcases images capturing the essence of both places, while showing what an alternative historical development path could have delivered for territories which are remarkably similar in size and other ways.
