The exhibition brings together a selection of digital and hand printed silver gelatine prints, dating from different stages of Stanney's artistic practice in his native Lancashire and, more recently, London. Going through impressions in the form of personal notes, one examines and classifies some of the key images of a lifetime, the setting registered by memory, the sensory perceptions that arouse a most sensitive past. Travels, cities, and spaces are visualized from the need of remembrance, and the defence of the individuality of experience. An anonymous person uses photography as a means of expression, and manages concepts such us emptiness and colour in an attempt to face self-knowledge and the understanding of the surroundings environment
